This stopover takes you from the city to the countryside and includes a night in a ryokan for a perfect brief taste of Japan.<br/><br/> Self Guided Rail Tours: <br/><br/>Japan’s railways are amongst the best in the world and our self guided rail tours are a great way for the independent traveller to explore Japan.<br/><br/>When you arrive at the airport you will be met and given destination guides, multi lingual maps and local detailed directions on how to reach your hotel, train stations and any other highlights of your tour. On your first full day in the main cities of Tokyo and/or Kyoto a local English speaking guide will meet you at your hotel and take you for a full day exploring the city using the local public transport. For the rest of the itinerary we have given sightseeing suggestions but you will be free to explore independently as you wish. <br/> <br/> If at any stage during your holiday you need additional assistance with directions, suggestions for what to do or have a question about local customs there is a 24 hour a day English speaking help line and a free phone card worth Y2000 (approx £11/€16) is included in all our tours.
