Laikipia Plateau Holidays

africa
With wildlife densities second only to the Masai Mara but a much lower number of visitors, the high plains, hills and woodlands of the Laikipia Plateau are an increasingly popular safari destination. The area’s private conservancies and ranches are renowned for their conservation efforts and feature endangered species such as black rhino and wild dogs.

Ol Pejeta Conservancy is home to two of the world’s last remaining northern white rhinos, and a sanctuary for over 100 critically endangered black rhinos, as well as the Sweetwaters Chimpanzee Sanctuary. You may also have seen Ol Pejeta on TV in the C4 series Secret Safari: Into the Wild. Lewa Wildlife Conservancy is also known for its rhino, the rest of the Big 5 and a host of other wildlife including northern speciality species such as Grevy’s zebra and the Reticulated giraffe.

Trailfinders offers a range of Laikipia Plateau holidays and we have a dedicated team of destination specialists who are a mine of information, often with first-hand travel experience. Whether you want to visit Laikipia on a fly in safari to a luxury lodge, on a family safari holiday, or combine with other areas – they are the perfect people to ask.
