Cusco Holidays

south & central america
The former capital of the Inca Empire, Cusco is a vibrant city where ancient traditions and modern life sit side by side in perfect harmony. With charming cobblestone streets, impressive Inca stone walls and beautiful Spanish colonial architecture - this historic city is a true delight and should not be rushed.

A UNESCO World Heritage Site, Cusco is a treasure trove of historical sites, bustling local markets, boutique shops, art galleries and lovely cafes and restaurants.

Visit the nearby impressive archaeological site of Sacsayhuaman - which also offers stunning views over Cusco, discover the Santo Domingo Church and wander through the beautiful San Blas district.

Cusco is almost always combined with the gorgeous Sacred Valley and magnificent Machu Picchu. On arrival into Cusco airport, in order to help avoid altitude sickness it is popular to travel straight to the Sacred Valley for several days before taking the train to Machu Picchu. When departing Machu Picchu several trains travel through the magnificent scenery to Cusco, where we recommend spending at least a few days discovering this marvellous region.

The luxurious and iconic Belmond Andean Explorer train journeys between Cusco, Lake Titicaca and Arequipa. It is also possible to take the elegant Perurail Titicaca train between Cusco and Lake Titicaca.
