Winter 2020I shall mention the P word only once, as nobody has a crystal ball. The Pandemic has made the innocent traveller realise, while they struggle to get refunds, that their money has not been set aside for the purpose they intended. Instead it is generally embezzled as ‘working capital’ by Airlines and Tour Operators. They cannot return your future holiday money because it has already been spent on day to day running costs.
From our little start up in 1970 I set aside all payments for future travel arrangements to be used solely and exclusively for that purpose, and formalised this into a Trust Account in 1993. Trailfinders has progressed to the ultimate protection of pipeline monies as we now meet all costs from our own pockets and draw down none of your monies until after you have completed your journey. How safe is that!
We can all reasonably expect to enjoy much needed holiday therapy in 2021. Beach bumming and family get-togethers for some, mountain biking and scuba diving for others, with exotic cocktails for most. We deserve a break – enjoy it.
