Secrets Lanzarote Resort & Spa Expert Review
Sarah Dorey
Secrets Lanzarote is an excellent option for a European luxury holiday. Rooms are tastefully decorated and very comfortable. If possible, definitely try to upgrade to a sea view as the coastline is gorgeous and marine life comes very close to shore at certain times of the year, so you may be lucky enough to see dolphins and whales from your balcony.
The food was a good standard throughout, with huge choice at the breakfast buffet. There are four a la carte restaurants with the Italian and seafood being the standout options. Complimentary arrival drinks of sangria or cava are offered at all the restaurants regardless of board basis which is a nice touch.
If budget allows, I would absolutely recommend upgrading to Preferred Club, as this grants access to an exclusive pool and restaurant area with stunning sea views. This area always felt tranquil and relaxing, with an efficient drinks service around the pool, compared to the busier main pool areas where you'd sometimes have to queue at the bar.
Top tip: Puerto Calero town is a ten minute walk along a paved beach path with gorgeous views the whole way. The town has a market on Tuesday and Friday morning which is worth a visit and a huge choice of waterfront restaurants.
