Nestled on the peaceful tip of Giudecca Island, across the lagoon from St Mark’s Square, the Cipriani provides an enchanting hideaway in this romantic city. This spectacular property is the original Belmond hotel opened by the inventor of the Bellini cocktail, Giuseppe Cipriani in 1958 and it is renowned for its Olympic sized swimming pool. Bursting with Venetian charm, the rooms blend old-world glamour with modern comfort and exude a relaxing, private atmosphere. Sumptuous Mediterranean cuisine is on offer at the restaurants as well as fine dining at the Michelin-starred restaurant, Oro. Those wishing to leave the hustle and bustle of the city behind can find serenity in the lush Casanova Gardens and the historic vineyard. Guests can take advantage of one of the hotel’s local experiences including a boat tour or a cycling tour around the sandbars whilst younger guests are entertained at the Smile kids’ club.

Trailfinders' Grace Sheedy gives an insight into Hotel Cipriani, A Belmond Hotel, Venice
Hotel Cipriani, A Belmond Hotel, Venice Expert Review
Grace Sheedy
Hotel Cipriani is one of the most elegant hotels I have ever stayed at!
The minute you arrive you are blown away by the elegance of the property. Beautiful gardens dotted with roses, stunning views across the lagoon and a glass of champagne to welcome you.
Staff are wonderful - friendly, helpful and informative.
With the peaceful setting on Giudecca Island, it's nice to be based away from the crowds but the 24/7 shuttle service means you are at St Mark’s Square in a matter of minutes. You feel somewhat celebrity-like arriving in the private water taxi!
Breakfast was exceptional; part buffet, part a la carte, and everything you would expect from a 5★ property.
We stayed in a Junior Suite with Pool Access & Terrace and it was absolutely gorgeous. Spacious, elegantly designed with all the mod cons - Nespresso machine and a Dyson hairdryer for example.
This is a very special hotel so book with confidence!
