Trailfinders' Jade Rowley gives an insight into Ikos Olivia
Ikos Olivia Expert Review
Jade Rowley
Ikos (which means 'home' in Greek) really is a lovely place to stay.
This property is perfect for families, and they have thought of something for everyone. The food and level of service were brilliant and could not be faulted - they would come round and clean your sunglasses on the beach, your glass was never empty, etc.
They have a lovely, shaded park for age 1–4-year-olds, and this is where the kids club and crèche are located which were always busy. They were brilliant with our one year old daughter. Baby trikes were included as well as the bike hire in the all inclusive. They had heated baby pools and splash pools with slides and fountains which were great for younger children.
Room service, sports, use of the spa, some watersports, dine out in local restaurants - even car hire was all included (one day per stay)! There is nothing you could actually pay for!
The evening shows were to a high standard and entertaining in their own theatre each evening.
They communicated with us through WhatsApp where you could book restaurants, order room service or arrange spa treatments very easily. Their Ikos app was also very good and worth downloading before departure, as it had all the daily information and your restaurant bookings.
We had a one bedroom bungalow suite with a private garden – book these if budget allows as they are much bigger and are better located around the hotel. There isn’t much in the area - you would need to explore by car if you wanted to do something outside of the hotel.
Top tip: Contact the hotel prior to arrival to book restaurants and also the car hire - they have about eight Mini Coopers you can book for the day as part of the all inclusive, but they get booked up quickly!
