Trailfinders' Manuri Senaratne Ahangama Arachchige gives an insight into Dusit Thani Krabi Beach Resort
Dusit Thani Krabi Beach Resort Expert Review
Manuri Senaratne Ahangama Arachchige
Dusit Thani Krabo is a stunning beachside hotel, ideal for those looking to unwind in tranquillity.
We chose this hotel as it was outside of the main Ao Nang beach area but still accessible by taxi (approx. 20 minutes). The resort is surround by lush gardens, has two pools and a beautiful beachfront fringed by large tress which provide shade. There’s also no shortage of sunbeds to choose from with many free throughout the day.
The property offers non-motorised water sports (paddleboarding, windsurfing and kayaking) which can be hired at extra cost. The sea with its slow-moving waves is very calm.
The Deluxe Rooms are comfortable and spacious with a shower and free-standing bathtub. We had a buffet breakfast included which features a combination of international cuisine and typical Thai dishes. There is also fresh tropical fruit cleaned and cut every morning which included everything from fresh juicy mangos to longan.
The area around the resort is quiet with a few restaurants and bars in the vicinity; however, they all close at around 10pm meaning if you wanted to stay out later then you’d need to take a taxi to Ao Nang with its night markets, which has a much livelier scene. There is a 7/11 located conveniently just outside the property if you would like to buy a few snacks or drinks.
Should you get a craving for Italian food, I recommend the Limoncello Italian restaurant. Serving Italian favourites, from antipastos, salads and soups to the famed Limoncello pizzas, it was a pleasant break for our palates complete with cool sea breezes from the outdoor terrace.
Top Tip: I recommend downloading the Bolt app for booking local taxis with ease should you like to visit Ao Nang Beach or Krabi Town.
