Anantara Bo Phut Koh Samui Resort Expert Review
Dave Hayeems
We had a great time at the Anantara Bo Phut. We stayed in a Garden View Room near the entrance building of the property which was nice and had a good balcony. There are rooms with private pools further up the resort towards the beach that looked lovely.
The pool area is excellent with a swim up bar and a ‘candy store’ which the kids loved. The bar on the beachfront has wooden swings and it’s a great place to chill in the evening before dinner. We spent most of our time on the beach which is very nice, and the hotel has beanbags and cabanas on the beach that are not charged for. There’s also a hotel only beach BBQ on a Monday night that has its own fire show.
The best part of the hotel for us was the location which is just at the end of the walking strip for Bo Phut. Along here you have multiple excellent restaurants including the famous Coco Tams which is lovely, along with a bar/restaurant scene with beanbags on the beach. They host an impressive fire shows every night at varying times - there were two at 7pm and 9pm on the three nights we were there – and they are some spectacle to watch!
Just along the walkway is a right turn into the night market that runs three times a week and is very busy with lots of market stalls leading to a big food market offering everything from fried rice and pad thai, to fried scorpions, tarantulas and of course the Thai staple of banana chocolate pancakes.
Top tip: bag a cabana on the beach during the day and a seat at the beach bar for happy hour for the perfect day!
