Trailfinders' Carrie Hawes gives an insight into Hilton Luxor Resort & Spa
Hilton Luxor Resort & Spa Expert Review
Carrie Hawes
Hilton Luxor is in a fantastic location right on the Nile on the outskirts of the city close to Karnak Temple. As a result, it’s very peaceful with just the sound of breeze rustling through the palm trees, the bleating goats and donkeys from the farms across the river and the odd boat passing by.
With its large pool areas (spa pool is adults only) it’s got a resort feel to it and is popular with guests at the end of a tour/cruise looking for a bit of R&R instead of heading out to the Red Sea.
The rooms are very Hilton - it’s an old hotel so the hardware is a little dated but it’s well maintained, bright and airy. There’s a good choice of dining options, and the hotel is magical at night lit up with lanterns, fire pits and live music.
Top tip: there is a shopping arcade in the hotel if you don’t fancy braving the Luxor souk.
