Itinerary
Days 1-2 Fort Worth
Welcome to Texas! Visit the Stockyard’s twice daily cattle drives, experience a rodeo show, shop for handcrafted cowboy boots or dance the night away at one of the many famous honky-tonk bars.
Day 3 Fort Worth to Austin
A few hours’ drive today takes you to the quirky city of Austin.
Day 4 Austin
One of America’s coolest cities, Austin boasts legendary live music, a burgeoning restaurant scene and an abundance of history and culture waiting to be explored.
Day 5 Austin to Dixie Dude Ranch
Head out of the city to Bandera and experience true Texan hospitality at an authentic dude ranch.
Day 6 Dixie Dude Ranch
Saddle up and release your inner cowboy! Enjoy trail rides, hiking, hayrides, home-cooked food and campfire sing-alongs.
Day 7 Dixie Dude Ranch to San Antonio
Famous for its colourful, vibrant Riverwalk and impressive historic missions including the Alamo, San Antonio has a rich Mexican heritage reflected in its food, music and architecture.
Day 8 San Antonio to Houston
Take a stroll through historic Houston Heights, a quaint neighbourhood dating back to the 1800s. Explore the museum district or head down to Space Center Houston.
Day 9 Houston to Lafayette
Cross into Louisiana and drive along the scenic Creole Nature Trail to Lafayette in the heart of Cajun Country. Explore the peaceful bayous by boat and keep your eyes peeled for ‘gators. In the evening dance the night away to cajun, zydeco and swamp pop!
Day 10 Lafayette to Plantation Country
Step back in time with a stay at a beautiful plantation home and explore some of the many other grand mansions, such as Oak Alley, which line the Great River Road.
Day 11 Plantation Country to New Orleans
A short drive today takes you to the jazz capital of the world where a melting pot of influences come together in this enchanting city.
Days 12-14 New Orleans
Spend your final days enjoying the live music that spills onto the streets in unmissable New Orleans.
