Itinerary
Days 1-2 Las Vegas
Spend a couple of nights in fabulous Las Vegas ahead of your national parks adventure. Take a tour of the legendary Strip or perhaps enjoy a magnificent Cirque du Soleil show.
Day 3 Las Vegas to Zion NP
Collect your motorhome and make the 2.5 hour drive to Zion National Park. Zion is home to mighty canyons, forests and amazing ‘hanging gardens’ which cling to the sides of its cliffs. This bird-watchers paradise is also home to Californian condors.
Day 4 Zion NP to Bryce Canyon NP
Continue through Utah to Bryce Canyon, where multi-coloured layers of rock – from flaming orange to the palest pink and white – form spectacular cliffs and pinnacles. Trekking opportunities abound, or perhaps sit around the campfire and admire the beautiful star lit sky.
Day 5 Bryce Canyon NP to Lake Powell
Enjoy spectacular Western scenery as you drive to Page on the shores of Lake Powell.
Day 6 Lake Powell
This vast lake has a breathtaking 2,000 miles of shoreline. Take a cruise to see the remarkable slot canyons and colourful sandstone formations of Antelope Canyon. Nearby is the wonderfully scenic Horseshow Bend, so called for the U-shape created by the meandering Colorado River.
Day 7 Lake Powell to Monument Valley
The famous towering red buttes and mesas of the Navajo reservation land have featured in a multitude of classic Western films. Take the 17 mile scenic drive past these individually named pinnacles, or spend a couple of hours hiking the Wildcat Trail.
Day 8 Monument Valley to Grand Canyon NP
Nothing can prepare you for the seemingly endless sweep of the Grand Canyon. On your first evening, find a vantage point for sunset and watch as the shadows lengthen and the desert rocks appear to change colour with each passing second.
Day 9 Grand Canyon NP
This morning take a guided two mile walk to learn more how the canyon was formed over billions of years. We also highly recommend taking a helicopter flight for unforgettable views - speak to your travel consultant for more information.
Day 10 Grand Canyon NP to Las Vegas
Return to the bright lights of Las Vegas and drop off your motorhome for a final night on the town.
Day 11 Las Vegas to Salt Lake City
Fly to Salt Lake City on day 11 and spend the night in a hotel. Explore historic Mormon Tabernacle and the picturesque gardens of Temple Square.
Days 12-13 Rocky Mountaineer
Depart Salt Lake City early for a transfer to Moab. In the afternoon, board the Rocky Mountaineer as you start your journey from Moab to Glenwood Springs. Cross the Utah-Colorado border with stunning mountain views in the background before arriving in the resort town of Glenwood Springs where you’ll disembark for the night. On the morning of day 13 re-board the train and admire the spectacular views of rugged canyons and the Colorado River before crossing the Continental Divide. Soon, you’ll reach the vibrant city of Denver, where your Rocky Mountaineer journey comes to an end.
Day 14 Denver
Spend the day exploring Denver at your own leisure before your flight home.
