Itinerary

Day 1  Denver                        
Arrive into Denver, set in the foothills of the Rocky Mountains.                      

Day 2  Denver to Cheyenne      
Collect your motorhome and head north to Cheyenne, home to the world’s largest outdoor rodeo held every July.                      
Day 3  Cheyenne to Mount Rushmore      
Visit the historic Fort Laramie, an old stagecoach post, as you head towards legendary Mount Rushmore.

Day 4  Mount Rushmore to Devils Tower                  
See the sculpted faces of George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, Theodore Roosevelt and Abraham Lincoln carved into the rock face, before travelling to Devils Tower this afternoon. So called because of its towering rock formations.                      
Day 5  Devils Tower to Sheridan        
Travel through the open plains to the characterful frontier town of Sheridan.  
       
Day 6  Sheridan to Billings              
Visit the fascinating site of Custer’s ‘Last Stand’ at Little Bighorn Battlefield and follow the short self-drive route to learn the story of the battle.            

Day 7  Billings to Cody            
Buffalo Bill Center of the West offers a fascinating insight in the American West, from Native American history to the geology of the Yellowstone region, whilst Cody’s nightly summer rodeo offers a true taste of cowboy life.                      

Days 8-9  Cody to Yellowstone NP  
The world’s first national park boasts amazing geysers and is home to elk, son and grizzly bears. Spend day 9 taking in the stunning natural beauty of Yellowstone.                      

Day 10  Yellowstone NP to Jackson Hole        
Another scenic drive through the Grand Teton National Park to Jackson Hole. Travel past the Teton mountain ranges which tower over Lake Jackson.

Day 11  Jackson Hole    
Spend a full day exploring the surrounds of Jackson Hole. Drive through spectacular Grand Teton National Park and embark on one of the many hiking trails. This evening, perhaps enjoy a Grand Teton Sunset Tour as you search for big game animals and admire the stunning scenery.                      

Day 12  Jackson Hole to Salt Lake City      
Continue to picturesque Salt Lake City, bordered by Great Salt Lake and snow-capped peaks of the Wasatch Range.

Day 13  Salt Lake City to Vernal        
Drive into pre-historic Dinosaur National Monument, where dinosaur bones are in abundance along with dramatic cantons and hiking trails.      

Day 14  Estes Park to Denver                
Take in the huge vistas on the drive through the rolling Colorado Rockies before dropping off your motorhome in Denver.

Day 15  Denver            
Enjoy a free day in Denver to explore at your own leisure.    

Days 16-7  Rocky Mountaineer    
This morning board the iconic Rocky Mountaineer as you start your journey from Denver to Glenwood Springs. Cross the Continental Divide as you take in the spectacular views of rugged canyons and the Colorado River before arriving at the resort town of Glenwood Springs. As you leave Glenwood Springs on the morning of day 17 you’ll cross the Colorado-Utah border with stunning mountain views in the background. Red sandstone landscapes emerge as you approach Moab, the gateway to Arches and Canyonlands National Parks where your journey comes to an end upon arrival in Moab. Transfer to your hotel in Moab for the night.                      

Day 18  Moab to Salt Lake City      
Transfer to Salt Lake City where the rest of the day is at leisure.        

Day 19  Salt Lake City          
Fly home today.    


Please Note Yellowstone National Park is not accessible by private car or motorhome due to snow and road closures between Nov - early May so we recommend this itinerary for travel between mid May - Oct only.
