Itinerary
Day 1 Nashville
Arrive into Nashville and transfer to your hotel located in the heart of Nashville. Join your tour director for a welcome dinner with your fellow travellers.
Day 2 Nashville
Visit Nashville’s highlights and participate in a rare recording session at Studio B joining a singer/songwriter to learn the stories behind the hits. Enjoy a performance at the Grand Ole Opry and, if you are travelling on a Founder's Collection departure, meet a Grammy-winning legend.
Day 3 Nashville to Memphis
Personalise your day in Memphis with a tour of Elvis’ Graceland or afternoon tea at The Peabody. Learn about the personal side of "The King" or enjoy the only traditional English afternoon tea in Memphis at the opulent Chez Philippe dining room.
Day 4 Memphis
Delve into the Memphis music scene with a visit to Sun Studio, "The Birthplace of Rock 'n' Roll." Continue your exploration of Memphis with a backstage pass to visit Central BBQ, one of the city's oldest and most iconic BBQ establishments. Meet Clint Cantwell, a renowned grilling expert over a hosted lunch of Central BBQ's famed Pulled Pork, Brisket & Ribs accompanied by tempting sides like slaw and other BBQ classics on a rare event usually only local insiders get to experience. Later, MAKE TRAVEL MATTER® with a guided tour of the National Civil Rights Museum.
Day 5 Memphis to Natchez
Head south to colonial Natchez for a private, owner-led tour of Sunnyside, a restored antebellum cottage. Check-in to your luxury country mansion inn this afternoon and whet your palate during a mixology class to learn the art of creating the south's signature drink, the Mint Julep. Afterwards, enjoy a delectable three course dinner with wine in the stunning mansion house.
Day 6 Natchez to New Orleans
Visit Frogmore Plantation, a former cotton plantation and get a glimpse into the sweet side of the South at Houmas House, a former sugar plantation and once the largest producer of sugar for the country. Your costumed hosts will tell tales of both trades as you tour the houses. This evening, learn about Creole cuisine during a lively cooking demonstration and taste the culinary creations for dinner.
Day 7 New Orleans
Join a local expert for a tour of New Orleans and learn of its rich history steeped in a myriad of cultures. See Jackson Square, the Treme neighbourhood and explore City Park's picturesque scene. Later, visit one of the city's famous above ground cemeteries and learn about the city's uniquely joyful outlook on life and death.
Day 8 New Orleans
Dive into the Mississippi River Delta. Discover wildlife in the wetlands and explore the “Islenos” fishing villages over a Bayou-side lunch with a local fisherman.
Day 9 New Orleans
Bid ‘au revoir' to the Big Easy this morning and transfer to the airport for you onward flight.
