Itinerary

Days 1-2  Boston    
Spend some time exploring this wonderful city, full of history, culture and charm.    

Day 3  Boston to Ogunquit    
Pick up your car and follow the coastal road to your first stop, the delightful seaside town of Ogunquit.    

Day 4  Ogunquit to Boothbay Harbor  
Continue north to the rugged landscape of the mid-Maine coast and Boothbay Harbor.    

Day 5  Boothbay Harbor  
Explore this lovely fishing village or take a boat trip around the craggy coastline. Sample Maine lobster – in this part of the world it’s a staple not a luxury!    

Day 6  Boothbay Harbor to Bar Harbor
Head onwards to charming Bar Harbor which is also the gateway to the stunning Acadia National Park.    

Day 7  Acadia National Park  
Discover this beautiful park on Mt Desert Island by hiking or biking along the historic carriage roads. Drive the 27 mile scenic loop and seek out Acadia’s pretty lakes, rugged coastline and Cadillac Mountain.    

Day 8  Bar Harbor to Portland    
Begin your journey south again to the friendly town of Portland and discover its Old Port, Arts District, local breweries and the oldest lighthouse in Maine.    

Day 9  Portland to Gloucester  
Back in Massachusetts, uncover the lovely Cape Ann region. Artistic Gloucester is a historic fishing village.    

Day 10  Gloucester to Cape Cod  
Next stop is charming Cape Cod.    

Day 11  Cape Cod  
Stretching over 70 miles, there’s so much to enjoy, including charismatic villages, whale watching and sweeping beaches with sand dunes. In the evening, tuck into a traditional dinner of lobster bake and clam steamers.    

Day 12  Cape Cod to Martha’s Vineyard
Take the ferry from Woods Hole (booked independently) and enjoy the 45 minute ferry ride to the idyllic island of Martha’s Vineyard.    

Day 13  Martha’s Vineyard    
This romantic island is full of quintessential New England charm. See the pretty clapboard homes and enchanting gingerbread cottages.    

Day 14  Martha’s Vineyard to Plymouth
Return to the mainland and head to Plymouth, it was here the Pilgrims landed in 1620. Visit Plimouth Living Museum to get a glimpse into the lives of these early settlers.  

Day 15  Plymouth to Boston    
Enjoy a final morning before heading to Boston for your flight home.
