Petra & Wadi Rum by Bike

Day 1  Amman          
Arrive in Amman and make your way to your hotel where you’ll meet your fellow travellers and tour leader.          

Day 2  Amman to Madaba      
After an initial briefing, travel by bus to the ancient city of Jerash. Discover the Roman ruins before the ride begins through the foothills of the Jordan Rift Valley, admire the fertile landscape en route to Madaba.            

Day 3  Madaba to Petra      
The most important Christian area in Jordan, Madaba is famous for its Byzantine era mosaics. Observe the mosaics this morning before a challenging ascent to Mount Nebo for spectacular views. Afterwards, enjoy a thrilling descent to the shores of the Dead Sea and take a dip in the famous waters. The final leg of the journey is by bus along the Kings Highway.          

Day 4  Petra        
Petra is an incredible sight and is well worth two full days of exploration. Walk down the narrow Siq and enjoy the excitement as you final reach the famous Treasury. There’s also time to see The Monastery and many other fascinating monuments and sections of this amazing place.    

Day 5  Petra          
Continue exploring Petra and cycle to Little Petra, just north of the main city. Of particular interest are the painted frescoes, dating from the 1st Century AD.        

Day 6  Petra to Aqaba      
Begin early this morning and ride through traditional Bedouin territory. Continue through the desert landscapes and follow the road through Wadi Araba, a huge, remote expanse and a beautiful area to ride through. Today is a challenging day with lots of ascents but the scenery more than makes up for it.          

Day 7  Aqaba to Wadi Rum      
Enjoy a morning at leisure and choose to lounge on the beach or go for a swim or snorkel. After lunch, take a final ride into Wadi Rum. This area is quite different to Wadi Araba and Lawrence of Arabia spent time in the desert here. Tonight, choose to sleep under the stars at your Bedouin camp and enjoy the silence of the desert.  

Day 8  Wadi Rum to Amman      
The desert is particularly beautiful in the morning. Enjoy a relaxed breakfast before a 4WD desert adventure, discovering the best of Wadi Rum. After lunch, transfer by road back to Amman.          

Day 9  Amman          
Your tour ends after breakfast this morning.
