Itinerary
Day 1 Bangkok
Welcome to Thailand! Hop in a transfer to your hotel, meet your fellow travellers and head out to Khao San Road for a big group dinner and drinks.
Day 2 Bangkok to Kanchanaburi
Start the day bright and early with a visit to one of Bangkok’s iconic floating markets. After you’ve browsed by longtail boat, head off to Kanchanaburi for a cruise down the River Kwai, stopping at the famous bridge for sunset.
Day 3 Kanchanaburi
Drive an hour outside town to the breathtaking Erawan Waterfalls. Make sure you have your swimmers with you, as there are seven crystal clear tiers to go for a dip in! Have lunch at the falls then head back to your hotel for an afternoon by the pool.
Day 4 Kanchanaburi to Chiang Mai
Enjoy a leisurely morning before you hit the road. Next stop is Thailand’s ancient capital, Ayutthaya. This UNESCO World Heritage Site is best explored on two wheels, so grab a bike and cycle back in time through the crumbling ruins. After a bite to eat, board the overnight train to Chiang Mai.
Day 5 Chiang Mai
Arrive into chilled out Chiang Mai early this morning and check into your guesthouse. Kick things off with a visit to Doi Suthep, a beautiful temple with incredible panoramic views over the whole city. Your afternoon is free to roam the markets before a group dinner later on.
Day 6 Chiang Mai to Hill Tribe Homestay
Lace up your walking boots and head off into the jungle for a trek to a traditional hill tribe village. You’ll spend the night in a homestay here, getting a glimpse into lives that have not changed for generations. Expect to see all kinds of wildlife on the trek, and even a waterfall or two.
Day 7 Hill Tribe Homestay to Chiang Mai
After a big thank you to your wonderful hosts, depart on the journey back to Chiang Mai – this time via bamboo raft! Glide down the river and keep your eyes peeled for elephants along the banks.
Day 8 Chiang Mai
Another day in the jungle is on the cards today, with a twist. Get your adrenaline pumping with an exciting day of ziplining, rope bridges and abseiling, experiencing the rainforest from all the way up in the canopy.
Day 9 Chiang Mai to Pai
This morning, enjoy a very special visit to a dedicated elephant rehabilitation sanctuary. The gentle giants are free to roam here, and you’ll learn all about the work done to protect them, then get the chance to hand feed them some fruit. With full hearts (and cameras), hop on the bus to your next stop, the hippy town of Pai. Check out the night market and have a few drinks in one of the many backpacker bars.
Day 10 Pai
Head out for a full day seeing Pai’s many natural wonders. Starting at Thailand’s biggest cave, hike through the main chambers and raft along the river, then give your muscles a break with a soak in a geothermal hot spring. Finish the day at Pai Canyon and watch the sun slowly set behind the surrounding mountains, before treating yourself to dinner at a nice restaurant.
Day 11 Pai
After a jam packed few days, enjoy some time to do your own thing – by the pool, strolling around town, or reading a good book! Later on, head to Pai’s Chinese village for some tea tasting.
Day 12 Pai to Chiang Mai
Head back to Chiang Mai this morning and learn about some of Thailand’s traditional dishes at a local cooking school. Select fresh ingredients from the market, then turn them into a tasty meal with the help of your teacher. Take the recipes with you to show off to your mates back home!
Day 13 Chiang Mai
Spend today at Chiang Mai’s very own Grand Canyon! It’s a man-made lagoon which has been turned into an adult playground, with paddle boards, a climbing wall, water slides hewn out of the rock and great spots for cliff jumping. When the day is done, head back to the city for a final dinner and night out, celebrating the end of an unforgettable adventure.
Day 14 Chiang Mai
Say goodbye to your new friends and amazing guide, then depart at any time.
