Itinerary
Days 1-3 Singapore
Sophisticated and efficient, Singapore is famous for its modernity, wander around the futuristic Marina Bay, home to a vast array of bars, shops and boutiques. On Day 2, take a city tour to meet the legendary symbol of the city at Merlion Park and explore the orchid garden.
Day 4 Darwin
Arrive into laidback Darwin. With its warm climate, palm tree-lined streets and azure coastal waters, the city is often a pleasant surprise. Boasting dazzling sunsets, enjoy dinner on a harbour cruise this evening.
Day 5 Darwin
This morning, uncover the city’s place in WWII history with a sobering Bombing of Darwin Tour. In the afternoon, enjoy a wander along the harbourside, admire the vibrant street art and savour the local Asian fusion cuisine in one of Darwin’s many restaurants.
Days 6-7 Darwin to Mary River NP
Pick up your car and take the scenic highway east to the Mary River region. Home to vast wetlands, stunning waterfalls and the largest concentration of saltwater crocodiles in the world. Your home for two nights will be a safari-style bungalow immersed in a tranquil setting. Spend the rest of the day and the next day exploring this tropical wilderness with included guided nature touring.
Day 8 Mary River NP to Kakadu NP
Today continue to Kakadu National Park, where you can spot endemic wildlife such as black wallaroos or dingoes. Make sure you catch the incredible sunset views from atop Ubirr Rock.
Day 9 Kakadu NP
This morning, explore Kakadu’s beautiful wetlands which play host to an abundance of wildlife on a Yellow Water Billabong Cruise, looking out for whistling ducks, magpie geese and distinctive jabirus. In the afternoon, you can discover the national park’s ancient Aboriginal rock art or take a walk through the bush to visit the area’s many waterfalls.
Day 10 Kakadu NP to Nitmiluk NP
Drive on to Katherine and into the rugged Nitmiluk National Park. Spend the rest of the day enjoying some of the 60 miles of scenic walking trails in the area.
Day 11 Nitmiluk NP
Make the most of your time in the dramatic gorges of Nitmiluk National Park. There is a multitude of activities available including canoeing, river cruising or even a scenic flight (all payable locally). Check with the visitor centre about the best waterfalls and safe natural swimming holes that are dotted around the park ready for you to discover.
Day 12 Nitmiluk NP to Darwin
Return to Darwin and drop off your car for your onward flight.
