Secrets of Southern Laos

Days 1-2  Vientiane  
Explore the hidden charms of Vientiane on a city tour accompanied by a local guide.      

Day 3  Vientiane to Ban Kong Lor      
Journey south through spectacular scenery of limestone karsts, verdant forests and viridescent rice paddies to the small town of Ban Kong Lor.      

Day 4  Ban Kong Lor to Thakhek    
Board a longtail boat and voyage along the 4 miles underground river flowing through the awe-inspiring Kong Lor Cave, one of South East Asia’s geological wonders. Continue to the sleepy town of Thakhek, home to picturesque colonial buildings.      

Day 5  Thakhek to Pakse      
Continue south to Pakse, stopping en route at That Ing Hang, one of the most revered temples in Laos and the charming town of Savannakhet.      

Day 6  Pakse to Bolaven Plateau      
Set off to the emerald hued hills of the Bolaven Plateau, visiting stunning cascading waterfalls beforlearning how Lao coffee is cultivated at a plantation.Swim in the refreshing waters of Tad Lao waterfall.  

Day 7  Bolaven Plateau to Champasak      
This morning visit Wat Phou, a beautiful pre-Angkorian temple that is recognised as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Travel by boat to the delightful La Folie Lodge.    

Day 8  Si Phan Don    
Spend a day exploring the enchanting area known as Si Phan Don or the 4,000 islands. Here the mighty Mekong is at its widest and dotted with thousands of small tranquil islands. Discover picturesque scenery and local villages by boat and bicycle. Finish your day at the impressive Lippi Falls.      

Days 9-10  Champasak to Pakse    
Enjoy a day at leisure in this remarkable region. The next day, transfer to Pakse airport for your onward flight.
