Itinerary

Day 1  Siem Reap
Upon arrival transfer to your hotel.

Day 2  Temples of Angkor
Rise early for a tour of the Angkor temples and experience this impressive complex before the crowds arrive. Wander through vine-clad Ta Prohm, discover the many faces and intricate scenes depicted in Bayon then explore the lesser visited Preah Khan. This afternoon visit Angkor Wat.

Day 3  Siem Reap
Relax with a day at leisure or book one of the many experiences available to explore fascinating Siem Reap in more depth.

Day 4  Siem Reap to Koh Trong
Drive to Kratie via Stung Treng and the secluded temples of Koh Ker. Arrive in Kratie, where you will have a short break to stroll around the town before hopping on a boat to Koh Trong Island.

Day 5  Koh Trong Island
Explore Koh Trong Island with your guide by horse and cart or bicycle. Later board a local boat and cruise the waterways in search of the rare Irrawaddy dolphin; this is one of the only places in the Mekong where these unique mammals can be found.

Day 6  Koh Trong to Ratanakiri
Drive to the Ratanakiri province and enjoy lunch in the home of a local tribal family. Later you will visit the impressive Yeak Laom. This almost perfectly circular lake in the middle of the forest was created by a volcanic eruption around 700,000 years ago. Take a walk around the lake, stopping to swim and relax in the clear waters.

Day 7  Ratanakiri
Today explore the Ratanakiri countryside. Trek through verdant forests and meet the indigenous communities who live in this rural setting and learn about their lives and traditions. Enjoy the beautiful scenery and tranquil environment.

Day 8  Ratanakiri to Mondulkiri
Drive to Mondulkiri and check into your hotel before heading to the beautiful Bousra Ecopark, set deep in the forest. Here you can trek to the lower base of the dramatic crashing waterfalls. On the way back to town stop for lunch at a coffee plantation.

Day 9  Elephant Valley Project
Today visit the Elephant Valley Project, a sanctuary set within a 1,500 hectare reserve where elephants can roam and learn how to live in the wild again. Spend the day with the elephants in their natural habitat and learn about the important work taking place at the sanctuary.

Day 10  Mondulkiri to Phnom Penh
Transfer to Phnom Penh. Stop en route to explore the beautiful Nokor Bachey temple in Kampong Cham.

Day 11  Phnom Penh
Transfer to the airport.

Additional Options: After a fantastic tour of the temples, enjoy a relaxing cruise on a small private gondola boat in the afternoon sunlight. Paddle along the ancient moat of Angkor Thom, filled with flowers and buzzing with dragonflies, to Prasat Chrung temple. This lesser-known temple is set on top of a hill in the Angkor complex, offering excellent views and is an ideal spot to watch the breathtaking sunset. Indulge in a glass of bubbles and canapés as the sun sets on a magical evening.
