Itinerary

Day 1 Mandalay      
Upon arrival transfer to your hotel.      

Day 2 Sagaing, Ava & Amarapura  
Enjoy a full day tour of the former capitals. Visit the spectacular pagodas and monasteries at Sagaing, explore the remains of Ava’s Royal Palace and fort by horse and cart and finish the day with the famous U Bein Bridge at Amarapura.      

Day 3 Mandalay      
Head to the jade market where merchants from China, India and Thailand come to trade. Next, visit Mahamuni Pagoda home to one of the country’s most revered Buddha images. Finish the day at the top of Mandalay Hill for magnificent sunset views.      

Day 4 Mandalay to Bagan  
During Oct - Mar board the RV Panorama day cruise to Bagan which departs three times a week. This 10 hour journey gives an insight into life on the Irrawaddy River. From Apr - Sep drive 5 hours to Bagan. End your day at a vantage point with views over Bagan’s spectacular temple-strewn plains.      

Day 5 Bagan      
Head to an elevated spot for a panoramic view over Bagan. Visit a selection of these incredible monuments before enjoying a horse-drawn cart ride through the magical landscape.  

Day 6 Bagan      
Explore Bagan’s temples and villages by bike before an afternoon at leisure.

Day 7 Bagan to Kalaw      
Fly to Heho and en route to Kalaw visit Pindaya cave temple, packed with hundreds of Buddha statues.

Day 8 Kalaw to Inle Lake    
Drive to the Green Hill Valley Elephant Camp to spend some time with these fascinating creatures. After lunch continue to Inle Lake. Climb aboard a private motorised longboat and enjoy the fabulous scenery as you pass traditional stilted villages and floating gardens.  

Day 9 Inle Lake      
This morning visit Phaung Daw Oo Pagoda. Later head to the Red Mountain Estate Winery to enjoy wine tasting accompanied by beautiful rural views.

Day 10 Inle Lake      
Visit a bustling morning market then take a boat ride along a scenic canal to explore the incredible temple complex at Indein.  

Day 11 Inle Lake to Loikaw      
Set off early on a 3 hour boat journey to Sagar and visit its 108 sunken stupas which sit partially underwater for a few months during the year. Continue to Loikaw and visit Taung Kwe Pagoda, perched on top of a rock formation.

Day 12 Loikaw    
Out in the countryside enjoy a 2 hour walk through local villages where you have a unique chance to interact with the Padaung tribe of long neck women, renowned for the many brass neck rings they wear.

Day 13 Loikaw to Rangoon (Yangon)      
Fly to Rangoon. Board the local ‘circle train’ for a fascinating insight into life in the city. Enjoy an afternoon at leisure then finish your day with a trip to the magnificent Shwedagon Pagoda.

Day 14 Rangoon      
Today take a short ferry ride across the river to Dhala for a trishaw ride around this small town. On your return, stroll past the city’s colonial landmarks to the famous Bogyoke Market and stop at a local tea shop.

Day 15 Rangoon      
Transfer to the airport.
