Itinerary
Days 1-3 Kuching
Arrive in Kuching at any time. The next morning head out and meet the indigenous people of southern Sarawak at a Bidayuh tribal village. On day 3 embark on a cruise down the Santubong River and soak in the verdant scenery of the Santubong Peninsula. Enjoy free time before an evening walk through Kubah National Park.
Day 4 Kuching to Mulu NP
Board a flight to Mulu, renowned for the fascinating Mulu Caves. Spot nocturnal wildlife on a night walk through the park.
Day 5 Mulu NP
Glide along the Melinau River and arrive at a Penan settlement, learn how the native tribe are working to preserve their traditions.
Day 6 Mulu NP to Kota Kinabalu
Spend the morning at leisure, perhaps discover the otherworldly landscape from Mulu Skywalk. Fly to Kota Kinabalu this afternoon.
Day 7 Kota Kinabalu to Kampung Bilit
Rise early and fly to Sandakan to visit the Sepilok Orangutan Rehabilitation Centre. Meet the rescued orangutans, then the Malayan sun bears at the Bornean Sun Bear Conservation Centre. Embark on an evening cruise on the Kinabatangan River. Tonight, you’ll stay at a lodge in the small village of Kampung Bilit.
Day 8 Kampung Bilit
Set out on foot into the jungle with local guides, before cruising the wildlife rich waterways of the river. Keep your eyes open for the rare pygmy elephant.
Days 9-10 Kampung Bilit to Tabin Wildlife Reserve
Check in to the rainforest lodge at Tabin Wildlife Reserve. Later, trek along the elephant trail past Lipad mud volcano and up to the observation tower for stunning views of the forest. After dinner venture out on a night safari to find the reserve’s nocturnal creatures. Day 10 is another thrilling day spent exploring the reserve, take a dip in the refreshing Lipad Waterfall.
Day 11 Tabin Wildlife Reserve to Kota Kinabalu
Relax this morning before catching a flight back to the bustling city of Kota Kinabalu.
Day 12 Kota Kinabalu
Check out of your hotel as your adventure comes to an end.
