Itinerary
Day 1 Cusco
On arrival, you’ll be greeted and transferred to your hotel. In the evening you’ll meet your fellow travellers over your first local meal together. After dinner, head out in Cusco town for the beginning of your Latin American adventure.
Days 2-3 Cusco
Dive into Peruvian culture on a guided walking tour of Cusco city. Learn about the city’s history and sample local food in the colourful markets. The next day you’ll learn the traditional art of weaving in a rural artist community and head to a local pottery to learn pottery making and painting.
Day 4 Cusco to Ollantaytambo
On your way to the Sacred Valley of south Peru, you’ll stop to marvel at the site of Maras Salt Mines before riding down on a mountain bike surrounded by incredible views of the Andes Mountains. You’ll check into your hotel where you’ll have the evening to relax.
Day 5 Ollantaytambo
Embark on a walk through the village’s historical Old Town and make your way to the viewpoint for breath-taking mountain views. The afternoon is yours to explore at your own pace. Perhaps indulge in a traditional Inca food experience or wander around the charming cobblestone streets and adobe buildings.
Day 6 Ollantaytambo to Aguas Calientes
Today is the big day - Catch the Inca train towards Machu Picchu. Keep your camera ready as you ride along the Urubamba River, snow-capped mountains and local villages before arriving at the grand Inca Trail.
Day 7 Aguas Calientes to Cusco
Your journey continues up the winding but scenic road to the entrance of the Incan citadel Machu Pichu. Your guide will take your around the ancient ruins and lush greenery of the Andres Mountains, ensuring you get all the snaps you need! After exploring the incredible site and its scenery, it’s time to head back to Cusco.
Days 8-9 Cusco
Enjoy a slow morning before a local cooking class awaits. In the evening you’ll head out and explore the magnificent city of Cusco. The next morning you’ll head to impressive Rainbow Mountain, a sacred and spiritual area to the Incas. Spend the full day trekking up the incredible mountains layered in gold, lavender, red and turquoise colours. Dance the evening away with your fellow travellers for one last salsa before your journey ends the next day.
Day 10 Cusco
It’s time to wave goodbye (or see you soon!) to your fellow travel companions. Your guide will be at hand to help with your onwards journey.
