Amazon to The Andes

Day 1  Lima  
Arrive in Lima and explore Peru’s capital at leisure.  

Day 2  Lima to Cusco  
Transfer to the airport and fly to Cusco.  On arrival, the rest of the day is at leisure to explore this fascinating city. Visit one of the many museums, such as the Archaeological Museum or opt to join a cooking class.  

Day 3  Cusco to the Sacred Valley  
Travel through the stunning Sacred Valley before visiting the impressive ruins of Ollantaytambo. Spend time exploring these fascinating structures, your first taste of what lies ahead on the Inca Trail.  

Day 4  Sacred Valley to Inca Trail  
Journey to the start point of the famous Inca Trail. Meet with your local guides and porters and start the four day trek.

Days 5-6  Inca Trail  
With steep paths and intriguing ruins, the Inca Trail offers wonderful views and is guaranteed to get the blood pumping.  

Day 7  Inca Trail to Cusco  
The final day of the hike starts pre-dawn to reach the Sun Gate before sunrise. Soak up the view of breathtaking Machu Picchu and enjoy a tour of this historic wonder, before catching the train back to Cusco.

Day 8  Cusco  
Today is free to simply relax or further explore colonial Cusco. You may choose to visit one of the many nearby ruins or the Inca Museum.  

Day 9  Cusco to Amazon Rainforest  
Fly from Cusco to Puerto Maldonado, deep in the Amazon Rainforest. Travel onward by motorised canoe to your exclusive G Adventures lodge in the heart of the forest.  

Day 10  Amazon Rainforest  
This vast area is renowned for its diverse plant and animal populations, including over 1,300 bird and 200 mammal species. Explore the area and keep your eyes peeled for black caiman and giant river otters.  

Day 11  Amazon Rainforest to Lima  
Leave the beauty of the Amazon behind and board a flight back to Lima.

Day 12  Lima  
Your tour comes to an end after breakfast.
