Itinerary

Days 1-2  Mexico City  
Arrive in Mexico City and transfer to your hotel. On day 2, embark on a full day street food tour visiting the downtown area, including the famed Catedral Metropolitana and Zocalo, where you’ll try tacos de canasta. Head to the traditional Jamaica market, before continuing to Coyoacan where you can try coffee, churros, and interesting ice cream flavours.  

Day 3  Mexico City to Puebla
Journey to the pyramids of Teotihuacan and explore this remarkable site. Continue to Puebla, stopping en route for a workshop on the cultivation of nopal, a staple in Mexican cuisine and culture.  

Day 4  Puebla to Oaxaca  
Start your day at Calle de los Dulces, Puebla’s Sweet Street. Afterwards, visit Santa Roda, the alleged home of the creation of mole poblano. Sample some local varieties before driving to Oaxaca.      

Days 5-6  Oaxaca  
Head to a traditional mezcal factory and enjoy lunch at the Caldo de Piedra restaurant, named after the ancient cooking technique. On day 6, enjoy a traditional Mexican cooking class, starting the day at a local food market where you’ll pick up the ingredients you’ll use.  

Day 7  Oaxaca to Chiapa del Corzo  
Travel to Chiapa del Corzo today, stopping off at the small town of Teotitlan del Valle and the ancient Mixtec site of Mitla en route.  

Days 8-9  Chiapa del Corzo to San Cristóbal
Today, visit the spectacular Sumidero Canyon and embark on a speed boat trip to truly appreciate the towering gorge. On day 9, start your day with a visit to the food market and dine at a traditional restaurant this evening to try delicious authentic dishes.  

Day 10  San Cristóbal to Palenque  
Stop at a traditional cacao ranch to learn about the processing of cacao into chocolate; afterwards enjoy a delicious lunch of deep-fried mojarra, before arriving in Palenque.

Day 11  Palenque to Campeche  
Enjoy a guided visit to the jungle ruins of Palenque before heading to the fishing village of Champoton for a ceviche lunch. Continue to Campeche for the night.

Days 12-13  Campeche to Merida  
Take an orientation walk around the fortified town of Campeche before driving to Uxmal. Enjoy a pibil lunch in a local villager’s house before continuing to Merida. On day 13, explore the historic ruins of Chichen Itza before a visit to the Colon ice cream parlour.  

Day 14  Merida  
Your tour ends in Merida.
