Itinerary
Day 1 Georgetown
On arrival into Georgetown you will be met and transferred to your hotel.
Day 2 Georgetown to the Iwokrama Forest Reserve
Fly to Lethem in the remote Rupununi region and journey by road to the Iwokrama Forest Reserve. Head into the treetops and explore the Iwokrama Canopy Walkway, a series of suspension bridges set up to 30m above the forest floor.
Day 3 Iwokrama Forest Reserve
Wake before dawn to see the sunrise over the canopy and spot a variety of birds as they welcome in another day. Explore the forest trails and enjoy being surrounded by pristine rainforest.
Day 4 Iwokrama Forest Reserve to the Rupununi Region
A full day adventure will take you from the Iwokrama Forest Reserve to Karanambu, home to the late Diane McTurk, a conservationist and world-renowned expert on giant otters. Take a boat trip in search of Diane’s beloved otters which are almost 2m in length.
Day 5 Rupununi Region
Today look for another of Guyana’s giants, the giant anteater. With any luck you’ll spot one of these magnificent animals digging out their breakfast from one of the termite mounds which dot the savannah.
Day 6 Rupununi Region to Georgetown
Leave the wilderness behind and return to Georgetown. Spend the rest of the day at leisure.
Day 7 Kaieteur Falls
Rise early to see the abundant birdlife in the botanical gardens at dawn before embarking on a scenic flight over the rainforest to discover the remote and aweinspiring Kaieteur Falls. This is one of the most powerful waterfalls in the world and is sure to make for an unforgettable day.
Day 8 Georgetown
Spend the day at leisure before transferring to the airport in time for your flight.
