Itinerary
Days 1-3 Playa del Carmen, Mexico
Hola! Welcome to Mexico. Meet your fellow travellers on day 1 and enjoy Playa del Carmen.
Days 4-6 Playa del Carmen to Caye Caulker, Belize
Bid adios to Mexico as you head south to Belize on day 4. The journey will take the whole day but it’s worth it for 2 full days in paradise on Caye Caulker.
Days 7-8 Caye Caulker to Cayo District
From the islands to the highlands, catch a ferry to Belize City and a local bus to San Ignacio, the vibrant centre of the Cayo district. Enjoy a guided walking tour on arrival and leisure time on day 8.
Day 9 Cayo District to Tikal, Guatemala
This morning cross the Belize-Guatemala border and travel by bus to Tikal, home to five granite temples. Tonight you’ll camp under the stars.
Days 10-11 Tikal to Rio Dulce
First stop today is the island of Flores before continuing to Rio Dulce for your two night stay.
Days 12-13 Rio Dulce to San Jorge La Laguna
Travel to Antigua on day 12. Journey along the winding roads to Chichicastenango on day 13, home to one of the most colourful markets in the country. Tonight, stay at San Jorge La Laguna in a homestay and dine with your local hosts this evening.
Day 14 San Jorge La Laguna to Lake Atitlán
Say goodbye to your host family and head to the town of Panajachel, located on Lake Atitlán. Find your bearings on a walking tour before an afternoon of leisure.
Days 15-17 Lake Atitlán to Antigua
Travel back to Antigua for your next three nights.
Days 18-20 Antigua to Suchitoto, El Salvador
Travel to Copán on day 18 and spend the night. Visit the ruins in Copán on day 19 before heading to Suchitoto in El Savador. Join a walking tour on day 20.
Days 21-22 Suchitoto to El Cuco
Travel to El Cuco for a two night beach stay, perhaps enjoy an optional surf lesson on day 22.
Days 23-25 El Cuco to Granada, Nicaragua
Cross the border to Honduras, spending the night in León. On day 24 head to Granada, set on the banks of Lake Nicaragua and surrounded by active volcanoes. Enjoy two days at leisure.
Days 26-27 Granada to Ometepe Island
Travel across Lake Nicaragua to Ometepe Island, home for the next two nights. The island is famed for its vast jungle, fruit plantations and exotic wildlife.
Days 28-29 Ometepe Island to Monteverde, Costa Rica
Next stop is Monteverde, renowned for its unique Cloud Forest. You’ll have two nights to fully explore this biodiverse area.
Days 30-31 Monteverde to Arenal
On day 30 head across Lake Arenal to the little town of La Fortuna for two nights.
Days 32-33 Arenal to San José
Your final night will be spent in Costa Rica’s capital, San José. On day 32 enjoy a walking tour before spending your final night saying goodbye to your new found friends. You tour ends on the morning of day 33.
