Itinerary
Day 1 Guayaquil
Upon arrival transfer to your hotel.
Day 2 Guayaquil
Wander along the Malecon 2000, a 1½ mile promenade which runs along the Guaya River and visit the historic Las Peñas neighbourhood on a half day tour.
Day 3 Guayaquil to the Galápagos Islands
Fly to the Galápagos Islands and head to the highlands of Santa Cruz Island, the home of the famous giant tortoise.
Day 4 Galápagos Islands
This morning visit Puerto Egas on Santiago Island and discover the ancient lava flows, land iguanas, fur seals and prolific birdlife. Sail to the tiny island of Sombrero Chino and snorkel around the shore.
Day 5 Galápagos Islands
Today you will discover Genovesa Island. Climb Prince Philip’s Steps to enjoy wonderful views and explore the sandy beach of Darwin Bay to find nesting birds amongst the mangroves.
Day 6 Galápagos Islands
Visit Santa Fe Island and follow a walking trail before snorkelling or kayaking in the clear waters next to the white sand beach. Later enjoy a panga (motorised dinghy) ride along the northern coast of Santa Cruz.
Day 7 Galápagos Islands to Quito
Enjoy a final exploration along the coast of Santa Cruz before you depart this amazing archipelago and fly to Quito.
Day 8 Quito
Explore Quito’s historical centre on a guided walking tour and later visit the Equatorial Monument which divides the northern and southern hemispheres.
Day 9 Otavalo
Drive past majestic scenery as you head north from Quito and enjoy spectacular views of San Pablo Lake and Imbabura volcano before exploring the bustling market town of Otavalo.
Day 10 Quito to the Amazon Rainforest
Fly to Coca then transfer via boat to the 3★ Napo Wildlife Centre located within the Yasuni National Park.
Day 11 Amazon Rainforest
Rise early to visit the parrot clay licks where parrots, macaws and parakeets gather in an explosion of colour. Later, hike the forest trails to a local community and learn about the traditional way of life.
Day 12 Amazon Rainforest
Look out over the canopy from the observation tower. Observe flocks of blue and yellow macaws and monkeys searching for fruit. Once back on the forest floor enjoy a guided hike and explore the surrounding lakes and creeks by canoe.
Day 13 Amazon Rainforest to Quito
Journey through the rainforest to Coca and fly back to Quito for a final night in Ecuador's capital.
Day 14 Quito
Transfer to the airport.
