Itinerary

Day 1  San Jose            
Arrive to the hotel with the rest of the day at leisure.            

Day 2  San Jose to Rio Tarcoles    
After a briefing and a bike fit, ride deserted tracks through rural villages to Atenas for lunch. Afterwards, continue passing mango orchards & cattle ranches.            

Day 3  Rio Tarcoles to Manuel Antonio NP      
Board a boat for a guided tour of the estuary to see crocodiles, abundant birdlife & scarlet macaws. Afterwards mount the bikes for more countryside riding.            

Day 4  Manuel Antonio NP to Ciudad Cortes          
A guided hike through the national park to see the amazing wildlife before continuing to ride the spectacular Coastal Highway.  

Day 5  Ciudad Cortes to Puerto Jimenez        
Cross Costa Rica's longest river to Palmar Sur and visit the famous spherical rocks. Then travel by coach to La Palma, later cycle through Puerto Jimenez to your beach hotel.        

Day 6  Puerto Jienez to Las Cruces        
Take a boat to Golfito with the possibility of seeing dolphins before heading to the tropical gardens of Rio Claro.    

Day 7  Las Cruces to San Gerardo de Rivas            
Enjoy a thrilling descent towards the Pam-Am Highway and transfer across a mountain pass to the lodge for the evening in San Gerardo de Rivas.          

Day 8  San Gerardo de Rivas to Orosi Valley          
Start with a short downhill cycle before boarding a bus to Cerro de la Muerte. This is the highest point of the Pan-Am Highway and this stretch will take you through rainforest, cloud forest and then descend back to Central Valley. Cycle downhill to Orosi Valley.          

Day 9  Orosi Valley to Turrialba      
Today is probably the most scenic as the views are staggering in places. Pass through coffee plantations and watch the local farmers cultivate the fields and beans. Ride around a hydroelectric dam and after lunch in Tucurrique, cycle through lush scenery of sugar cane plantations before a transfer to a mountain lodge for the night.          

Day 10  Turrialba to Puerto Viejo  
Cycle a hilly section with incredible views, followed by a fast downhill descent to the town of Siquierres form to board a coach to transfer along the Caribbean coast. Upon arrival, set off through an isolated backroad before reboarding the coach to Puerto Viejo, a typical Caribbean town.  

Day 11  Puerto Viejo to Tortuguero        
Embark on a guided hike in Cahuita National Park to spot wildlife before transferring to Guapiles for lunch. Transfer to La Pavona and board a river launch through wildlife rich canals to Tortuguero and the lodge on the beach.          

Day 12  Tortuguero to La Fortuna          
Start with an early morning boat trip where you will likely spot monkeys, caiman, iguanas, butterflies and hundreds of bird species. Later cycle through banana plantations before a transfer to La Fortuna in the foothills of Arenal Volcano. A trip to Eco-Termales hot springs is included this evening.        

Day 13  La Fortuna to La Garita de Alajuela  
Pass tropical farmlands growing exotic fruits and vegetables on the last day of cycling to Bajo Rodriguez; before transferring to La Garita de Alajuela        

Day 14  San Jose        
You tour comes to an end in San Jose (La Garita) after breakfast.
