Costa Rica Adventure

Day 1  San José    
Arrive in Costa Rica’s capital city and meet your leader and fellow travellers.    

Days 2-3  San José to Quepos  
Travel to Quepos on the Pacific Coast. Spend a couple of days enjoying beautiful white sand beaches and warm turquoise waterand make sure you check out Manuel Antonio National Park.    

Days 4-5  Quepos to Monteverde  
Drive to the Monteverde Cloud Forest and take a walk in the cool mountain air.  On day 5 enjoy free time to explore this bird lover’s paradise. Opt to walk on suspension bridges through the jungle canopy or experience a thrilling zipline.    

Day 6  Monteverde to Arenal    
This morning head towards the Arenal Volcano and the town of La Fortuna.  Hike the area’s nature trails or swim in the cold waters below a waterfall.

Days 7-8  Arenal  
Over the next couple of days enjoy free time with the option to try mountain biking, caving and horse riding or take a relaxing soak at Baldi Hot Springs.    

Day 9  Arenal to Sarapiquí Rainforest    
Visit a G Adventures supported coffee cooperative in the small village of San Miguel de Sarapiqui and learn about the coffee process from bean to cup. Continue to the Sarapiquí Rainforest, where you spend the night.

Day 10  Sarapiquí Rainforest    
Enjoy a day in the beautiful Sarapiqui Valley and immerse yourself in this unique jungle oasis, home to hundreds of animals, birds and butterflies. Take the chance to cool off in the river after hiking in the rainforest.  

Days 11-12  Tortuguero    
Drive to Tortuguero and take in the wildlife along the canals and in the jungle. On day 12 enjoy free time and wander through the town or head to the beach to see hatching turtle eggs (seasonal – July to October give the best opportunity!)    

Days 13-14  Tortuguero to Puerto Viejo de Talamanca    
After a morning boat ride, drive to Puerto Viejo de Talamanca and enjoy this picturesque village for the next two days. On day 14 cycle to the beach and take some time to relax in this beautiful area.

Days 15-16  Puerto Viejo de Talamanca to San José    
This morning enjoy free time before heading back to San José, where your  tour comes to an end on day 16.
