Itinerary
Days 1-6 Colombia
Kick off your epic adventure with the welcoming charm of Colombia. Visit the fantastic capital city of Bogotá, where you can learn about the country’s fascinating history, before travelling to dynamic Medellín, a thriving cultural hub which has seen inspirational social transformation over recent years. Soak up the enchanting character of the colonial gem of Cartagena, a UNESCO World Heritage Site set on the lovely Caribbean coast.
Days 7-13 Ecuador & the Galápagos Islands
Start your week in Ecuador amongst the cobbled streets of Quito’s old town before flying to the Galápagos Islands; certain to be a trip highlight. A true bucket list experience, no two days are the same as you sail around this astonishing archipelago, inhabited by some of the world’s most diverse, fascinating and fearless wildlife.
Days 14-23 Peru
Your time in Peru begins in cosmopolitan Lima, renowned for its wealth of fine dining restaurants, before heading into the pristine Amazon Rainforest. Stay in a remote jungle lodge to discover exceptional biodiversity on a range of activities run by expert naturalist guides. Follow in the footsteps of the Incas to magical Machu Picchu, undoubtedly the jewel in Peru’s glistening crown. The ‘Lost City of the Incas’ was rediscovered in 1911 after being hidden for centuries; a visit here is sure to be truly unforgettable.
Days 24-42 Argentina & Chile
Travel across two of South America’s most strikingly scenic countries and traverse the wild landscapes of Patagonia. Begin by exploring the lively foodie scene and energetic tango shows of brilliant Buenos Aires. Take in the jaw-dropping Perito Moreno Glacier, before you cross into Torres del Paine National Park. With breathtaking scenery at every turn, it is no wonder this is Chile’s most popular national park. Heading north, enjoy walking trails through green forests in the beautiful Lake District and wine tastings at the fabulous vineyards which surround Mendoza. Fly to world-famous Iguazú Falls, which sit on the border of Argentina and Brazil. With 275 individual waterfalls set in a magnificent jungle setting, be amazed by the drama and beauty of this awesome wonder as you witness the power of the falls from a variety of viewpoints.
Days 43-50 Brazil
The final border crossing of your extraordinary journey takes you to the Brazilian side of the falls for panoramic vistas before flying to Rio de Janeiro, known locally as the ‘Cidade Maravilhosa’ (Marvellous City). It is hard to disagree with this nickname once you’ve experienced Rio’s iconic sights, famed beaches and vibrant atmosphere. Drive along the picturesque coastline to the charming seaside town of Búzios. Relax on one of the many beaches nearby, from sweeping golden sands to hidden bays with aquamarine lagoons and wander the waterfront promenade – a perfect end to your grand tour of South America.
