Itinerary
Day 1 Santiago
On arrival transfer to your hotel.
Day 2 Santiago
Enjoy a guided tour of Chile’s cosmopolitan capital city. See historic Santa Lucia Hill, admire the contrasting architecture throughout the city and the artistic neighbourhood of Bellavista.
Day 3 Santiago to Elqui Valley
Fly to La Serena and embark on a short tour of this colonial seaside city before driving to the beautiful Elqui Valley. This evening visit an observatory to marvel at the night skies in one of the best areas for stargazing in the country.
Day 4 Elqui Valley
Shop for arts and crafts in the small town of Horcón and visit one of the oldest pisco distilleries in Chile to learn how this popular liquor is produced.
Day 5 Elqui Valley
Continue exploring the Elqui Valley and visit the family-run vineyard of Cavas del Valle which produces superb Syrah wines. The afternoon is at leisure.
Day 6 Elqui Valley to Valdivia
Rise early and fly to Puerto Montt (via Santiago) and take a scenic transfer through the Lake District to Valdivia.
Day 7 Valdivia to Futangue Park
This morning see the highlights of Valdivia. Visit the fort on the island of Niebla and have lunch at a local brewery. Continue to the 4★ Futangue Hotel & Spa, set in an area of outstanding beauty.
Day 8 Futangue Park
Discover shimmering lakes and lush Valdivian rainforest in this little visited area with a choice of excursions from your hotel.
Day 9 Futangue Park to Colchagua Valley
Drive back to Puerto Montt and fly to Santiago. On arrival you will leave the city and head into the beautiful wine region.
Day 10 Colchagua Valley
A treat to end your holiday! Today you’ll visit two vineyards where you’ll be able to taste the wines produced at each and enjoy a delicious lunch.
Day 11 Colchagua Valley to Santiago
Transfer to Santiago airport.
Additional Options: Extend your stay in the Lake District with a visit to Chiloé Island, accessible from Puerto Montt. Although only a short ferry from the mainland, the unique culture and history make it feel a world apart. Alternatively, discover awe-inspiring Patagonian scenery in the Aysén Region at Mallin Colorado Ecolodge. Speak to your travel consultant for more details.
