Itinerary
Day 1 La Paz
Arrive in La Paz for an evening welcome meeting.
Day 2 La Paz to Sucre
Take a morning flight to Sucre. Once in Sucre choose between exploring this beautiful colonial town, hiking in the surrounding area or mountain biking.
Days 3-4 Sucre
You have two days at leisure to explore all the city has to offer. If you are there on a Sunday perhaps visit Tarabuco market to get a glimpse into daily Bolivian life and the diversity of its people. On day 4 continue to explore this amazing area and perhaps visit one of the world's largest collections of dinosaur footprints at the Cal Orcko Dinosaur Park.
Day 5 Sucre to Potosí
Journey from Sucre to Potosí where you can take the opportunity to visit a working silver mine and learn about the process of extraction and working conditions.
Day 6 Potosí to Uyuni
Head south and travel through the Bolivian landscape to the town of Uyuni, which has earned the nickname of Hija Predilecta de Bolivia (Bolivia’s favourite daughter).
Days 7-8 Uyuni to Salar de Uyuni
Start your two night excursion to the stunning landscape of Salar de Uyuni. Enter a world unlike any other as you drive across the salt flats and take in the unforgettable contrasts of piercing blue sky against the blinding white of the flat salt beds. Visit the Santiago de Agencha community to learn about their traditional agricultural practices and take a guided walk to the sacred Jukil mountaintop for a beautiful view of the village below and the salt flats beyond.
Days 9-11 Salar de Uyuni to La Paz
Enjoy a final day of exploring the Salar de Uyuni before boarding an overnight bus back to La Paz.
Day 10 is at leisure and you have many options to explore the city. Take a guided tour and check out stunning cathedrals and impressive museums or visit the Witches’ Market and learn about the pre-Columbian Aymara beliefs and see locals buying talismans for use in rituals and offerings. Or if you feel more adventurous opt to cycle on a thrilling biking adventure. Your tour finishes after breakfast on day 11.
