Itinerary
Days 1-2 Mendoza
Arrive in Mendoza, the heart of Argentina’s wine country. On day 2, head to Lujan de Cuyo and visit two of the region’s wineries, where the vines grow in the shadow of the Andes. Enjoy tastings of the multiple grape varieties grown here.
Day 3 Mendoza
Head out on a full day trip to Aconcagua Provincial Park. Hike through lush meadows and forested valleys to Horcones Lagoon.
Day 4 Mendoza to Barreal
Set off to Barreal, a sleepy town overlooked by snow-capped Andean peaks. Explore nearby El Leoncito National Park and perhaps enjoy some stargazing.
Days 5-6 Barreal to Villa Unión
Drive to Villa Unión, passing through ancient settlements and winding through mountains. Spend day 6 exploring the otherworldly scenery of Ischigualasto National Park and the red rock towers of Talampaya.
Day 7 Villa Unión to Belén
Journey towards the small town of Belén. Visit a women’s weaving co-operative on arrival in Belén and learn about the fascinating process and its importance in the local community.
Day 8 Belén to Cafayate
Head to the northern winelands around Cafayate, stopping at the indigenous Quilmes ruins en route. This afternoon, enjoy wine tasting in one of the region’s rustic wineries.
Day 9 Cafayate to Cachi
Today, continue on to tranquil Cachi, passing through dramatic landscapes.
Days 10-11 Cachi to Salta
Drive from the cactus filled deserts of the Cardones National Park, down to lush green mountains en route to Salta. On day 11, discover the Humahuaca Gorge. Visit the colourful desert town of Purmamarca, where the Hill of Seven Colours is its magnificent backdrop, before heading to the traditional village of Tilcara. Return to Salta this afternoon and enjoy some traditional folk music.
Days 12-13 Salta to Buenos Aires
This morning fly to Buenos Aires and enjoy an afternoon at leisure. On day 13, embark on a walking tour through the heart of the city from Plaza de Mayo to the colourful neighbourhood of La Boca.
Day 14 Buenos Aires
Your tour ends in Buenos Aires. Transfer to the airport for your onward arrangements.
