Itinerary
Day 1 Buenos Aires
Upon arrival transfer to your hotel.
Day 2 Buenos Aires
See the highlights of Buenos Aires with a city tour. Explore the cobbled alleys of San Telmo, visit the historic Plaza de Mayo, colourful La Boca and leafy Recoleta. This evening experience an iconic tango show.
Day 3 Buenos Aires
Today is at leisure. Take some time to explore this vibrant city or ask your travel consultant for details of additional tours you can include.
Day 4 Buenos Aires to Puerto Madryn
Leave the city behind and fly to Trelew in northern Patagonia. Transfer to your hotel in Puerto Madryn, close to the Península Valdés.
Day 5 Península Valdés
Enjoy a full day tour around the superb Península Valdés. Pass a large colony of elephant seals and look out for guanacos, armadillos and eagles. If travelling Jul - Dec the tour includes a boat trip to look for majestic southern right whales and Oct - Mar you will also visit a Magellanic penguin colony.
Day 6 Puerto Madryn
We have left today free; speak to your travel consultant about excursions available to pre-book. Why not take a trip into the scenic Rio Chubut Valley to learn about the palaeontology of the region and visit the historic Welsh settlement of Gaiman?
Day 7 Puerto Madryn to Iberá Wetlands
Fly to Posadas and venture into the Iberá Wetlands for a three night stay at the wonderful 4★ Puerto Valley lodge, a beautiful property set on the banks of the Paraná River.
Days 8-9 Iberá Wetlands
Spend two full days exploring this fascinating region with expert guides. Spot wildlife in the lodge’s private area of the wetlands, cruise or kayak along the river and take a walk through Iberá National Park looking out for capybaras, alligators and scarlet macaws.
Day 10 Iberá Wetlands to Iguazú Falls
Leave this marshy wilderness behind and drive north to Iguazú Falls. En route stop to see the Jesuit ruins at San Ignacio.
Day 11 Iguazú Falls
See one of South America’s greatest natural wonders. Explore the trails in the Argentine national park and marvel at the powerful falls from a variety of viewpoints.
Day 12 Iguazú Falls to Buenos Aires
Cross into Brazil to see the falls from a different perspective on a morning tour. You can take the boardwalk which extends across the waters where you will likely be soaked from the spray! Later fly to Buenos Aires.
Day 13 Buenos Aires
Transfer to the airport.
