Itinerary
Day 1 El Calafate, Argentina
Arrive in El Calafate and transfer to your hotel. Upon arrival, embark on a short drive to visit the breathtaking Perito Moreno Glacier with your fellow travellers.
Day 2 El Calafate to Torres del Paine, Chile
Start early this morning with a scenic journey crossing the Andean border by 4WD to Torres del Paine National Park. On arrival, visit the main highlights of the park before going on short walks to discover the best panoramic views.
Day 3 Torres del Paine
Today you will begin your trek to one of the most impressive highlights of the park, the 'base of the towers'. A lakeside viewpoint from where you will look upon Torre Sur, Torre Central, Torre Norte and Cerro Nido de Cóndor.
Day 4 Los Cuernos
Walk down the valley towards the shore of Lake Nordenskjold, and then follow the edge of the lake on a much flatter and easier terrain to reach Los Cuernos. This is considered by many to be one of the most charming sites in the whole park.
Day 5 Paine Grande
Another long day of trekking lies ahead as you venture into the French Valley, involving some ascents and descents, with views of Nordenskjold Lake. Continue onto French Glacier lookout where you’ll be able to observe an impressive hanging glacier, and listen out for the rumbling noises of small avalanches as great chunks of ice and snow fall off. Late afternoon, arrive in the idyllic 'Paine Grande' where you will spend the night.
Day 6 Torres del Paine to El Calafate, Argentina
An early start today to see the third and final of the ‘W-Trek’ highlights, the Grey Glacier. The trail goes along the western side of the Paine Massif with views to Lake Grey and various mountains. Return by the same route to Pehoé Lake, from where you will take the catamaran across the lake to Pudeto sector. After a short bus ride, board your transfer vehicle to take you back across the border into Argentina and arrive late evening to the town of El Calafate.
Day 7 El Calafate
Today is a free day to explore El Calafate at your leisure. Maybe take a half day tour to Estancia Nibepo Aike where you can enjoy a typical Patagonian barbecue and see how an estancia works in Patagonia, or you may choose to simply relax at your hotel.
Day 8 El Calafate to El Chalten
In the morning, transfer to the small mountain town of El Chalten, your base for walking the Fitzroy region. The rest of the day is free to relax, or you may opt to go on one of the many short treks available around town.
Day 9 Laguna de Los Tres
Take a short bus journey on the edge of Glaciares National Park to your start point at El Pilar, where you will begin trekking the stunning Fitz Roy region. Weather permitting, continue onto Laguna de Los Tres involving a steep ascent to a scenic spot from which to relax and take photos of the Fitzroy Massif. Later return to El Chalten on foot.
Day 10 Torres Glacier
Your last day of trekking takes you through a beautiful valley towards the stunning Torres Glacier viewpoint. After some time here to marvel at the vista, return on foot back to El Chalten.
Day 11 El Chalten to El Calafate
After breakfast transfer to El Calafate airport for your onward journey.
