Itinerary

Days 1-5 Christchurch to Abel Tasman NP
Known as the 'Garden City', Christchurch is the perfect location to start your scenic exploration of New Zealand's South Island. So jump on a tram for a tour of the city or take a hike through the beautiful Botanic Gardens, before picking your camper to start your road trip. Heading north, go whale watching in Kaikoura and enjoy a spot of wine tasting around the wineries of Marlborough Sounds. Park up, grab a bottle of wine and enjoy a picnic amongst the rolling vineyards as the next few days will be a bit more active.

Days 6-10 Abel Tasman NP to Franz Josef
Abel Tasman National Park is a coastal adventure playground! Hike into the wilderness, go sea kayaking, snorkel the pristine waters or perhaps just sit back and relax on the famed endless golden beaches. The landscape is going to drastically change as you head down the west coast to the glaciers of Franz Josef, after a quick stop to see the Pancake Rocks of Punakaiki. For the ultimate tick off the bucket list, why not do a heli hike up the glacier?

Days 11-15 Franz Josef to Te Anau
Next stop - Queenstown! Get your adrenaline fix as this is the home of ziplining, bunjy jumping, sky diving and all things adventure. The surrounding scenery is also home to many locations used to showcase Middle-earth in The Lord of the Rings and Hobbit Trilogies so make your base close to all of the action. Once you've had your fill, it's time to relax again with a scenic cruise on Milford Sound from Te Anau.

Days 16-21 Te Anau to Christchurch
Hug New Zealand's south coast to it's southernmost city, Invercargill. believe it or not, this town has a thriving bar scene so get your party dress on and hit the town! Continue hugging the coast up to Oamaru to get up close to the little blue penguins, before discovering the nation's Scottish routes in Dunedin. Home to New Zealand's only castle, enjoying High Tea is the perfect way to end your southern sojourn as your next stop is to return your camper back in Christchurch,
