Itinerary
Day 1 Auckland
Arrive in Auckland and be transferred to your hotel. Meet your Tour Leader and travel companions at a welcome dinner this evening.
Days 2-3 Auckland to Bay of Islands
Travel to Matakohe and visit the Kauri Museum. Continue to the Bay of Islands and enjoy a guided tour of the Waitangi Treaty Grounds. Day 3 is a free day to explore at your leisure.
Day 4 Bay of Islands to Auckland
Cruise through the beautiful Bay of Islands by luxury catamaran and admire the historic lighthouse at Cape Brett before continuing on to Auckland.
Days 5-6 Auckland to Rotorua
Enjoy an Auckland city tour before heading to Hobbiton for a guided movie set tour. On day 6 enjoy a gondola ride at Skyline Rotorua, see the geysers at Te Puia, and experience an entertaining Maori Concert.
Day 7 Rotorua to Napier
Journey along the Thermal Explorer Highway to Huka Falls and Lake Taupo before continuing to Napier. Board the Hawke’s Bay Express as you learn about this historic city.
Day 8 Napier to Wellington
Travel to Wellington where you will embark on a city tour and a group dinner.
Day 9 Wellington to Blenheim
Visit Te Papa before boarding the Interislander Ferry to Picton and transferring to Blenheim.
Day 10 Blenheim to Christchurch
Tour through Marlborough Country and head to the seaside village of Kaikoura. Continue on to Christchurch for a city sightseeing tour.
Day 11 Christchurch to Franz Josef
Board the scenic TranzAlpine train and continue to Franz Josef.
Days 12-13 Franz Josef to Queenstown
See the snow-capped peaks of the Southern Alps before arriving in picturesque Queenstown. Enjoy a day at leisure to explore on day 13.
Days 14-15 Queenstown to Te Anau
Travel to Arrowtown and visit the Lakes District Museum, before continuing to Te Anau. On day 15, board a Milford Sound cruise and marvel at the towering fjords.
Day 16 Te Anau to Dunedin
Journey to Dunedin and enjoy a fascinating and historical city tour.
Day 17 Dunedin to Twizel
Follow the Waitaki River as you admire Mount Cook, New Zealand’s highest peak. Travel on to Twizel for your overnight stay.
Days 18-19 Twizel to Christchurch
Continue to Lake Tekapo before arriving in Christchurch, and enjoy a farewell dinner this evening. Your journey comes to an end on day 19.
