Itinerary
Day 1 Auckland
Arrive into Auckland and make your way to your hotel. Enjoy the rest of the day at leisure before an evening welcome reception with your tour director and fellow travellers.
Day 2 Auckland to Bay of Islands
Leave Auckland behind and travel through lush farmland to the Waitangi Treaty Grounds, the location where New Zealand's founding document was signed in 1840. Continue to the beautiful Bay of Islands.
Day 3 Bay of Islands
Enjoy a day at leisure to experience the beauty of the Bay of Islands. Perhaps take an optional dolphin-watching cruise, take a coach trip to Cape Reinga via idyllic 90 Mile Beach or a day of sailing on a tall ship.
Day 4 Bay of Islands to Auckland
Enjoy a leisurely morning before travelling back to Auckland via Whangarei, the northern-most city in New Zealand. Wander around the art galleries and through the marina, before continuing your journey to Parry Kauri Park for a walk amongst New Zealand's forest giants. Arrive into Auckland late this afternoon.
Day 5 Auckland to Rotorua
Enjoy a sightseeing tour of Auckland then journey south through the Waikato district. Discover the incredible Waitomo Glowworm Caves on a guided underground boat trip through the limestone caves before continuing onto Rotorua. This evening, enjoy a delicious Te Puia's world-famous hângî buffet dinner.
Day 6 Rotorua
Discover the scenic wonders of this geothermal wonderland at leisure today. Perhaps visit Rainbow Springs Kiwi Wildlife Park for a behind the scenes tour of their kiwi hatchery or visit Te Puia for a tour of their Thermal Reserve.
Day 7 Rotorua to Wellington
This morning, depart Rotorua travelling south to Taupo, in the very heart of the North Island. Stop to view mighty Huka Falls before following the eastern shoreline of Lake Taupo. Continue through rich farming lands into the capital city Wellington. This evening enjoy a farewell meal with your fellow travellers.
Day 8 Wellington
Enjoy a guided tour of Wellington, taking in the panoramic views from the top of Mt. Victoria. There will also be time to explore the Parliament buildings before your tour comes to an end.
