Itinerary
Day 1 Negombo
Upon arrival at Colombo airport transfer to your beachfront hotel in nearby Negombo.
Day 2 Negombo to Nuwara Eliya
Depart for the drive to Nuwara Eliya in the heart of the tea country, known as ‘Little England’ thanks to its cooler climate and colonial buildings oozing with charm.
Day 3 Nuwara Eliya to Kandy
Head to nearby Nanu Oya station where you will board a train for an exciting journey through picturesque tea plantations. Disembark at Hatton where your guide will meet you to continue by road to Kandy. Later enjoy a vibrant show of traditional music and dance before visiting the Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic.
Day 4 Kandy to the Cultural Triangle
Visit a working tea factory to see the manufacturing process in action. Continue to your hotel in the Cultural Triangle, stopping to discover some of the tastes of Sri Lanka at a spice garden en route. The afternoon is at leisure to relax by the pool.
Day 5 Polonnaruwa
Rise early and head to Polonnaruwa for an exciting monkey encounter. Afterwards explore the ruins of this former capital city, now a UNESCO World Heritage Site, before returning to your hotel.
Day 6 Cultural Triangle
Visit a traditional Sri Lankan village to learn about rural life. Walk along a scenic trail and take a short catamaran canoe ride along a canal. The morning ends with a local lunch in a village house. In the afternoon enjoy a game drive to see the elephants of Minneriya National Park.
Day 7 Cultural Triangle to Trincomalee
Leave the Cultural Triangle this morning and drive to the east coast.
Days 8-12 Trincomalee
Enjoy five days to relax by the white sands of Uppuveli Beach and enjoy the host of facilities at your hotel.
Day 13 Trincomalee to Negombo
A long drive takes you across the country back to Negombo for your final night in Sri Lanka. Alternatively take a light aircraft flight to cut your journey time and enjoy scenic views across the island.
Day 14 Negombo
Transfer to the airport for your onward flight.
