Itinerary
Day 1 Negombo
Arrive in Colombo and transfer to your hotel in Negombo.
Day 2 Negombo to Anuradhapura
This morning, drive to Wilpattu National Park. Enjoy a jeep safari, keeping your eyes peeled for leopard, elephants, and sambar deer. Afterwards, transfer to nearby Anuradhapura, where you will spend the next couple of nights.
Days 3-4 Anuradhapura to Giritale
Travel to the mountain peaks of Mihintale and climb to the summit for spectacular views, before exploring the ancient capital of Anuradhapura. On day 4, en route to Giritale, visit the incredible Dambulla caves, a World Heritage Site.
Day 5 Giritale to Sigiriya
Explore Polonnaruwa and admire the spectacular buildings and monuments. Continue to Dambulla, where there will be the option to take a jeep safari in either Minneriya or Kaudulla National Park, in search of elephants.
Days 6-7 Sigiriya to Kandy
Rise early to climb Sigiriya ‘Lion Rock’, ahead of the crowds whilst it is cool, before heading to Kandy. Spend day 7 discovering Kandy and visit the famed Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic.
Day 8 Kandy to Dalhousie
Rise very early as you join pilgrims on the strenuous climb to Adam’s Peak for sunrise.
Day 9 Dalhousie to Nuwara Eliya
Travel to scenic Nuwara Eliya, stopping off at an estate to learn about the process of tea making.
Day 10 Nuwara Eliya to Ella
Board a train for a picturesque journey to Demodara, before continuing by road to Ella.
Day 11 Ella to Udawalawe NP
This morning, visit Ravana Ella Waterfall, before heading to Udawalawe. Explore the park by jeep, looking for buffalos, jackal, wild boar, and leopards, before visiting the Elephant Transit Home.
Days 12-13 Udawalawe NP to Koggala
Journey to the coast and visit the pretty town of Galle this afternoon. On day 13 enjoy free time to relax on the beaches of Koggala.
Days 14-15 Koggala to Colombo
Head to Colombo and spend the afternoon exploring the capital city. Your trip comes to an end on day 15.
