Itinerary
Days 1-2 Kegalle
Upon arrival transfer to the 4★ Rosyth Estate House, a colonial planter’s bungalow dating from 1926. Enjoy a day at leisure to explore the estate on foot or by bike, visit the nearby tea factory or take a cooking class.
Day 3 Kegalle to Kandy
Visit the Elephant Freedom Project in Kegalle and learn about the work they are doing to protect these majestic animals. Continue to the 4★+ Santani a wellness-orientated property, nestled in the hills outside Kandy.
Days 4-5 Kandy
Hike down to the pretty Hulu River and head out on an excursion to the unusual Galmaduwa temple, built in 1750 by the last king of Sri Lanka. Visit a nearby craft village and spend a day at leisure to enjoy the property.
Days 6-7 Gal Oya NP
Drive east to the rustic 3★ Gal Oya Lodge. Enjoy a game drive into Gal Oya National Park, a boat safari on the lake and join a member of the local forest-dwelling Veddha community for a walk through the jungle.
Days 8-9 Ella
Head towards Ella stopping to visit a tea factory en route and check into the superb 4★ 98 Acres Resort & Spa. The next morning hike up nearby Little Adam’s Peak and visit the picturesque Nine Arch Bridge and the Rawana Ella waterfall.
Days 10-13 Koggala
This morning take a short scenic train ride to Haputale and continue by road to the 4★+ Tri Koggala, a charming boutique hotel near the south coast. Spend 3 nights relaxing in your resort before returning to Colombo airport for your onward flight.
