Itinerary
Days 1-2 Colombo
Arrive in the vibrant, bustling capital city and enjoy your first delicious dinner at the Ministry of Crab restaurant, renowned for its fresh Sri Lankan seafood. Discover the highlights of Colombo on a tuk-tuk tour, followed by a cookery class with a local chef where you will learn the secret to making authentic hoppers.
Day 3 Colombo to the Cultural Triangle
Depart Colombo and drive to the Cultural Triangle. This afternoon meet an expert chef for an ice cream tasting experience. Try old favourites such as vanilla, strawberry and chocolate, along with some flavoured with local fruits and spices.
Day 4 Cultural Triangle
Visit striking Sigiriya, also known as ‘Lion Rock’ and then head to Minneriya National Park for a jeep safari in search of elephants. This evening enjoy a unique treetop dining experience at your hotel.
Day 5 Cultural Triangle to Jaffna
Leave early for the drive to Jaffna. On arrival stop at Rio Ice Cream parlour for a typical Jaffna treat.
Day 6 Jaffna
Visit Thinnai Organic farm where you can join a range of activities including herb and vegetable picking, planting seeds or fishing. Afterwards learn how to cook an authentic Jaffna meal.
Day 7 Jaffna to Trincomalee
Drive to your beach hotel on the east coast and spend the rest of the afternoon relaxing on the beautiful white sand beach.
Day 8 Trincomalee
Enjoy time to unwind before learning how to make traditional arrack cocktails and a Trincomalee lagoon crab curry.
Day 9 Trincomalee to Kandy
Drive to the hill country capital of Kandy and later visit the famous Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic.
Day 10 Kandy
Explore the city by tuk-tuk before meeting your guide for a street food tour. Stop at a host of local venues where you can try a selection of Kandyan delights.
Day 11 Kandy to Nuwara Eliya
Travel by train through the scenic countryside from Peradeniya, near Kandy, to Nanu Oya. Continue by road to your hotel in the heart of the tea country.
Day 12 Nuwara Eliya
Meet your naturalist guide for a tea picking experience. Head to the fields and learn how to pluck the best quality leaves alongside the experts. Back at your hotel the chief tea taster will inspect your efforts before a tour of a working tea factory.
Day 13 Nuwara Eliya to Galle
Head to historic Galle Fort on the south coast and enjoy the rest of the afternoon at leisure. Opt to explore Galle Fort’s charming alleyways lined with boutique shops and eateries, or simply unwind at your hotel.
Day 14 Galle
Visit a local home for a biriyani cooking class where you will prepare a delicious lunch with your host. This afternoon is free for you to explore the many cafés, bars and restaurants located around the city.
Day 15 Galle to Colombo
Transfer to Colombo airport for your onward flight.
