Itinerary
Day 1 Kathmandu
Arrive in Kathmandu and transfer to your hotel, close to the colourful and energetic Thamel district.
Day 2 Kathmandu to Syabrubensi
Leave the densely populated Kathmandu Valley behind and head north to Syabrubensi.
Day 3 Syabrubensi to Sherpagoan
Your Langtang Valley trek starts this morning. Begin with a steep climb to Kanjim where you’re rewarded with a lunch break. In the afternoon, there are wonderful views towards the river before a short descent to Sherpagoan.
Day 4 Sherpagoan to Ghora Tabela
Follow an undulating trail this morning through thick forest as far as the Lama Hotel. Enjoy the occasional glimpses of the mountains before the trail begins to get steeper en route to Ghora Tabela.
Day 5 Ghora Tabela to Kyanjin Gompa
The valley now opens out as you continue to climb higher to Mundu where you can admire the amazing views of Langtang Lirung. Finally, reach Kyanjin Gompa, a busy little village.
Day 6 Kyanjin Gompa
Spend the day in this area to help with acclimatisation. There are a number of options including climbing Kyanjin Ri at 4,350m.
Day 7 Kyanjim Gompa to Lama Hotel
Today’s walk is mainly downhill and includes great views down the valley. The trail passes through the forest, eventually reaching the Lama Hotel.
Day 8 Lama Hotel to Syabru
Take a steep rocky trail leading to a bridge over the Langtang Khola before stopping for lunch at Pairo. It’s then a long climb up to the scenic village of Syabru where you can enjoy views of Ganesh Himal.
Day 9 Syabru to Sing Gompa
A short but steep walk through rhododendron thickets brings you to the top of a ridge at Phoprang Danda where you can enjoy amazing views. Continue to the small settlement of Sing Gompa.
Day 10 Sing Gompa to Gosainkunda Lake
Today you will have fantastic panoramic views of the Annapurnas and Manaslu. Follow the ridge and pass through Cholong Pati, climbing higher until finally reaching beautiful Gosainkunda Lake.
Day 11 Gosainkunda Lake to Gopte
The terrain in this area is bare and rugged as you climb to the summit of Laurebena Pass at 4,650m. The views to the north and the west are breathtaking, admire the vistas before descending on a rocky trail to Gopte.
Day 12 Gopte to Kutumsang
Much of today is downhill with a couple of occasional ascents. On a clear day you may have views all the way to Everest. Eventually, reach Kutumsang for a final night in tea house accommodation.
Day 13 Kutumsang to Kathmandu
Rise early and descend into the valley below to Chunauti, from where you’ll drive back to Kathmandu.
Days 14-15 Kathmandu
Day 14 is at leisure to explore Kathmandu and your tour ends after breakfast on day 15.
