Itinerary
Day 1 Kathmandu
Upon arrival transfer to your hotel. In the afternoon enjoy a half day tour including visits to the city’s ancient Durbar Square and the royal palace Hanuman Dhoka. Finish your day with a visit to Swayambhunath Stupa, known as the ‘Monkey Temple’ after the troops of monkeys which inhabit the stupa.
Day 2 Kathmandu Valley
A full day tour of the treasures of the Kathmandu Valley begins with a visit to the enormous Boudhanath Stupa, one of Nepal’s most revered temples. Continue to neighbouring Patan’s stunning Durbar Square before strolling the enchanting streets of medieval Bhaktapur.
Day 3 Kathmandu to Pokhara
Spend the day driving to the beautiful lakeside town of Pokhara which enjoys a stunning setting at the foot of the Annapurna mountain range.
Day 4 Pokhara
Enjoy a day of sightseeing in Pokhara with your guide. Stops include the beautiful 17th Century Bindhya Basini Temple, the Gurkha Museum and the World Peace Pagoda. There is also the chance to visit a Tibetan refugee camp to learn about their way of life. Finish the tour with a magical boat ride on the peaceful waters of Lake Phewa.
Day 5 Pokhara
Today is free for you to further explore this lovely lakeside town or indulge in some retail therapy. Alternatively, ask about adding our Momo Cooking Class to learn how to make Nepal’s famed dumplings.
Day 6 Pokhara to Chitwan NP
Drive to Chitwan, Nepal’s oldest national park and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. This reserve is renowned for its abundant wildlife including elephants, leopards, Bengal tigers and one-horned rhinos.
Day 7 Chitwan NP
Look out for wildlife as you enjoy a full day of activities from your lodge, including a jeep safari and nature walk.
Day 8 Chitwan NP to Kathmandu
After a final early morning activity begin the long drive back to Kathmandu.
Day 9 Kathmandu
Transfer to the airport.
Additional Options: Why not add a night or two in historic Bandipur, Nepal’s most atmospheric hill station? A stop here can easily be added between Pokhara and either Chitwan or Kathmandu. 2★+ Gaun Ghar is a lovingly restored former residence which offers modest lodgings that reflect the heritage of this quaint hilltop town.
