Upon arrival transfer to your hotel. This afternoon enjoy a city tour of Kathmandu’s historic highlights including the UNESCO World Heritage listed Durbar Square and Hanuman Dhoka, the royal palace.
Day 2 Kathmandu to Pokhara
Today it’s a long but scenic drive to the lakeside town of Pokhara.
Day 3 Pokhara to Tikhedhunga
Transfer to Nayapul, the starting point of your trek and meet with your local guide and porters. Today’s 3-4 hour trek begins with a steady but relatively easy climb through the Modi Khola Valley to Tikhedhunga.
Day 4 Tikhedhunga to Ghorepani
Follow the trail back down the valley before a steep climb to Ulleri, a mountain village perched high on the hillside. Your hard work will be rewarded with a magnificent view of Annapurna South and Machhapuchhre (Fishtail Mountain). This afternoon, continue climbing steadily through beautiful rhododendron forests to Ghorepani; 6-7 hours trekking.
Day 5 Ghorepani to Tadapani
Rise early for an optional morning hike (2-3 hours) up Poon Hill to enjoy the spectacular views as the sun rises. Continue your trek for 4-5 hours along a relatively flat mountain ridge, passing through thick pine forests to Tadapani.
Day 6 Tadapani to Ghandruk
Trek down the valley, passing through remote villages dotted along the hillside to Ghandruk, once a major British Army recruitment centre for Gurkha soldiers; 5-6 hours trekking.
Day 7 Ghandruk to Pokhara
The last stage of the trek is an easier four hour walk downhill to Nayapul. From there transfer back to Pokhara where the rest of the day is free to relax your weary legs.
Day 8 Pokhara
Spend today exploring lovely Pokhara with your guide. Stops include the beautiful 17th Century Bindhya Basini Temple, the Gorkha Museum, the World Peace Pagoda and a Tibetan refugee camp. Finish the tour with a magical boat ride on the peaceful waters of Lake Phewa.
