Itinerary
Days 1-2 Delhi
Upon arrival transfer to your hotel. The next morning set off on a half day tour of this vibrant capital city.
Day 3 Delhi to Guwahati
Fly to Guwahati. On arrival pay a visit to the Kamakhya Temple, a popular pilgrimage site devoted to the goddess of desire before enjoying a traditional Assamese welcome as you board your ship and set sail upstream.
Days 4-9 Brahmaputra River Cruise
Aside from fascinating talks and cultural performances, highlights of your cruise include a tour of an Assam tea estate and the chance to meet members of the welcoming Mishing tribe, expert weavers who live in stilt houses on the riverbank. For many however, the most eagerly awaited part of the cruise is spending time in Kaziranga National Park, home to two thirds of the world’s remaining population of one-horned rhinos. Keep your eyes peeled for these magnificent beasts on a jeep safari, as well for the park’s other 180 mammal inhabitants including wild elephant, tiger, deer, buffalo and a rich variety of birdlife.
Day 10 Jorhat
After a relaxed breakfast, bid farewell to your fellow passengers and crew and transfer to the airport.
