Itinerary
Day 1 Delhi
Upon arrival transfer to your hotel.
Day 2 Delhi
Discover the sights and sounds of India’s bustling capital on a half day tour.
Day 3 Delhi to Varanasi
Fly to Varanasi and enjoy a tour of the city’s many fascinating temples and riverside ghats (the stepped terraces leading down to the River Ganges). At sunset watch an elaborate ganga aarti (river worship) ceremony from a boat on the Ganges.
Day 4 Varanasi
Soak up Varanasi’s spiritual atmosphere with a boat trip at dawn. Later visit Sarnath located just outside the city – a sacred Buddhist pilgrimage site that attracts worshippers from around the world.
Day 5 Varanasi to Khajuraho
Today it’s a long drive through the countryside to the small town of Khajuraho.
Day 6 Khajuraho & Panna NP
Discover the magnificent Hindu temples at Khajuraho, famous for their intricate and erotic carvings dating from the 10th and 11th Centuries. In the afternoon head to Panna National Park for a game drive. Tiger sightings are rare here but sambar deer, langur monkeys and other wildlife are often spotted.
Day 7 Khajuharo to Bandhavgarh NP
Drive south to Bandhavgarh National Park.
Day 8 Bandhavgarh NP
Enjoy morning and afternoon game drives in this scenic park. Bandhavgarh is one of India’s most densely populated tiger reserves so there is a good chance of seeing a tiger.
Day 9 Bandhavgarh NP to Agra
After a final early morning game drive, travel by road to Umaria where you will catch an overnight train to Agra.
Day 10 Agra
Enjoy a memorable visit to the stunning Taj Mahal and nearby Agra Fort.
Day 11 Agra to Jaipur
After visiting the Taj Mahal again for sunrise, travel by road to Jaipur stopping en route at the beautifully preserved deserted city of Fatehpur Sikri.
Day 12 Jaipur
Spend the day touring the highlights of Jaipur, including the palatial Amber Fort, the City Palace, Jantar Mantar observatory and a stop at the Palace of the Winds.
Day 13 Jaipur to Delhi
Return to Delhi arriving late afternoon. The rest of the day is free for you to enjoy the city’s shops, bars and restaurants.
Day 14 Delhi
Transfer to the airport.
