The mighty and sacred River Ganges holds a special significance throughout India and being here at sunset is an experience you don’t want to miss! Watch in awe from your boat as an elaborate ganga aarti (river worship) ceremony with fire and dance is staged at the Dasaswamedh Ghat. With the blowing of a conch shell and the waving of incense sticks and large flaming lamps, a group of young pandits (priests) perform a nightly ritual which sets alight the hazy dusk sky – a truly magnificent spectacle.
Please note that no life jackets are provided on the boat ride on the Ganges and although they operate over shallow water we do not recommend for non-swimmers or small children.
