Itinerary
Day 1 Delhi to Lucknow
Catch a train to Lucknow before heading out on an evening food walk to enjoy many of the delicacies on offer. This city is famed throughout India for its outstanding food, and particularly for its melt in the mouth meat kebabs, which legend has it were created for a toothless ruling Nawab!
Day 2 Lucknow
Explore the city, and its host of magnificent Islamic and grand Raj-era architecture, on a half day sightseeing tour. Highlights include the spectacular Bara Imambara, constructed as a shrine in 1784 and the Residency, scene of the infamous 1857 Siege of Lucknow which heralded the beginning of the end for the British Raj. In the evening you'll be met for a heritage walking tour. Stroll through the atmospheric narrow lanes of the Chowk, Lucknow’s oldest market. There are some fabulous handicrafts to be found here including beautiful Chikan work embroidery, a speciality of the region.
Day 3 Lucknow
Enjoy a day at leisure to discover this fascinating city at your own pace.
Day 4 Lucknow to Delhi
Transfer to the airport for your flight to Delhi.
